Grade 11-12.
Introduction to Education provides an introduction to teaching as a profession in the American educational system. Students will participate in authentic experiences, including fifteen clock hours of field observations in a K-12 school setting. Students will explore, reflect, and begin to develop the skills necessary to become an elementary or secondary educator. The class offers a variety of perspectives on education, including historical, philosophical, social, legal, and ethical issues in a diverse society. In addition to practical experiences, students will learn about the organization and structure of our school system.
Dual credit opportunity is available through this course.
