Course Delivery Models

As student needs and technology continue to evolve, Indian Prairie School District High Schools are offering courses in different formats to meet the needs of all students. The models described below represent options to allow for different levels of flexibility and/or autonomy for a student.

Traditional – Students report to assigned class on all scheduled attendance days.

Blended – Teachers have some ownership over the frequency of required in-class attendance.

Examples include, but are not limited to:

  • a fixed, flexible schedule where students report to class three days a week and complete independent work two days a week.
  • A dynamic, flexible schedule that allows teachers to differentiate required attendance  as the semester evolves based on the needs of the individual student and the class.

Online – Students work is completed on a flexible schedule with coursework and learning that is facilitated by a teacher in an on-line environment.  Some orientation meetings and in-person assessments may be required
